- excellent long-term stability
All Tetra Test products are easy to use and very precise. They use professional methods to determine the chemical water values in your aquarium. Available for all important water parameters.Test procedurePlease read this section completely before starting the test. The test measures oxygen values ranging from 2 to 14 mg/l.- Rinse the test vial with the water to be tested.
- Fill the vial to the 15 ml mark with the water to be tested. Open the bottles by piercing the nozzle with the help of the cap.
- Hold the bottle containing test reagent 1 upside down over the vial and add 5 drops.
- Hold the bottle containing test reagent 2 upside down over the vial and add 5 drops.
- Close the vial immediately and turn it upside down once to mix the content, then turn it upright again.
- A brown deposit will form. Leave the vial to stand for 30 seconds.
- Open the vial, hold the bottle with test reagent 3 upside down over the vial and add 5 drops.
- Close the vial immediately and turn it upside down and back again twice. The deposit will dissolve and the test solution will turn a reddish-purple colour.
- Hold the vial around 1 cm (fingers width) in front of the white surface of the colour chart. Match the shade of the test solution to the colour it comes closest to on the colour chart and read the corresponding value. After each test, rinse the vial thoroughly with tap water.
Values and assessmentThe table shows the optimum oxygen concentration in relation to the water temperature. The values indicated refer to fresh water (aquarium and pond). In marine water, the values are 1 to 2 mg/l lower. The higher the temperature, the lower the amount of oxygen the water can absorb. As a result, the optimum oxygen content varies. What should I do if... ...the oxygen content is too low?If there is an acute lack of oxygen in the water, causing your fish to gasp for air at the water surface, you need to install an air pump with a suitable air stone immediately. To maintain optimum water quality we recommend that you check water values weekly. All Tetra Test products are easy to use and very accurate. They use professional methods to determine chemical water values. Available for all key water values.Made in Germany -
